integrated systems testing (IST)

What is Integrated Systems Testing (IST)?

IST verifies that all interconnected Life Safety Systems within a building operate together correctly during both normal and emergency conditions.

Why do I need Integrated Systems Testing?

It's not enough to assume your life safety systems are working together. You need to prove it.

CAN/ULC-S1001 is Canada's Standard for Integrated Systems Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems. It defines the methodology for verifying and documenting that all interconnections between fire protection and life safety systems are installed and operating in conformance with their design.

Prior to 2020, it was assumed that all building systems worked together in the case of an emergency. When lives are at stake, assumptions aren't enough. Your life safety systems must work together, and you need to prove it.

Contact our Specialists today to find out what this would look like in your building.
